You could be karting for 24 hours
Fancy spending 24 hours in a small open four-wheeled vehicle that sits dangerously low on the track?
We’re talking karting. It looks silly and pretty dangerous, but everyone who’s ever done a lap on a company day out will agree that it’s rather spectacular. And hardcore karters take their sport very, very serious. Serious enough to spend 24 hours in a kart, racing around a track.
This week, Marrakech hosts the ninth edition of the “24 Hours of the Atlas”, where anyone with a driver’s license can have a go at completing the most laps in 24 hours. Last year’s winners did 941 laps.
The track, it must be said, looks pretty impressive.
The spectacle starts today and continues until next Sunday. The main event, the actual “24 hours” race, starts Friday at 2 PM. It’s hosted by Atlas Karting on Route de Safi.
- Last year’s 24 Hours event is chronicled at the 24karting.com website - no mention of this week’s challenge, though
