Knees up for Marrakech!

Filed under: Culture, Photography — taamarbuuta @ 12:49 am

One month ago, nearly to the day, The View from Fez posted a lovely article on the not-so-lovely display of French knees in the Fez medina. (Dar Mystere also had a nice post on the subject, which linked back to my own post covering what tourists should and should not wear in Morocco).

As it turns out, Fez is not the only Moroccan city subject to knee sightings - Marrakech, as it turns out, is susceptible to such behaviors!

This casual pair of knees leading into some loafer-clad feet might not look so bad, but check out the pair behind them! Positively ghostly.

Although it seems that men’s knees are generally more offensive to Moroccans than women’s (who doesn’t like a nice pair of women’s knees?), thighs are most certainly offensive all around. Particularly this pair.

Moments earlier, this French knee-barer had been spotted scrawling graffiti into a cactus. What decorum!

This pair (of shorts, that is - the woman is appropriately dressed) takes the cake!

“La di da!”

I just don’t know what tourists are thinking when they get dressed.
