Moroccans in the Marathon

Filed under: Sports, News, MENA — taamarbuuta @ 7:31 pm

This year’s second and third place winners of the Boston Marathon were both Moroccan!  Although Kenyan Robert Kipkoech Cheruiyot won first place, Abderrahime Bouramdane of Fez came in second, with Khalid El Boumlili finishing in third place.  Both men are Olympic hopefuls.

Unfortunately,  no Moroccan women placed in the top group this year.

I hope that they will always run under the Moroccan flag (even if converted to American nationality is the best thing that can happen for them…)

Thanks for the advice on the tap water. At our orientation, they told us not to drink the tap water off-campus, but it seems to be fine. I’d normally have done it, but I seem to be the only person who didn’t get a typhoid shot, so I didn’t want to test my luck. I’m not so worried about it anymore, though.
